Wouldn't it be great to have a container planter that keeps going all spring? Well we've got the solution right here with this cool lasagna-style planter completely bursting with blooms. Tulips, daffodils, crocuses and pansies all in one pot!
Layering, or planting “lasagna-style,” is a technique that lets you enjoy successive waves of bloom in a single container by overlapping the bloom times of early, mid and late-blooming spring bulbs. To do this, add a few inches of soil, then layer the tulip bulbs (crowd them in!), add some plant food and then cover them with a few more inches of soil.
Now the daffodils get planted, along with more plant food, and then (you guessed it!) a few more inches of soil. Time for crocuses. Finally, after the last layer of soil, top the whole thing off with pansies. Whew, talk about a full pot.
What you need for this:
- Tulip bulbs
- Daffodil bulbs
- Crocus bulbs
- Pansies plants
- Soil
- Plant food
- A big enough pot!
