After all the hectic Christmas shopping, errands and holiday traffic, we may not feel super inspired when it comes to decorating our gifts. Did you remember to buy bows and tags? Does your gift wrap all match? Much too complicated.

This year we're keeping it simple with natural accents and easy colour schemes. We've even created a sheet of free printable gift tags as a small holiday present to you; our friend, reader and fellow West Coast gardener. 

Black and white is not only easy to match, but also modern, clean and trendy this season. Pair matte black wrap with bright bold red accents, then added burlap to bring it back down to earth.

To make it easy, you can create small bunches of accents and tie them together with floral wire or string. Then you just need to attach them to your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning.

Here we've made a small posey of pine branches, berries, a succulent stem and wooden star accents. They are all gathered, then tied up with glitter burlap and string. The succulent stems can be put into floral picks with water, in order to last a day or two under the tree. 

Simple is better, when it comes to natural accents on your Christmas presents. A few strands of cute string or ribbon, with a branch or two tucked underneath, is plenty to spruce up that gift. You can alternate between string, thin and wide ribbon, and fancier choices when tying up your gifts.

Red berries are a natural holiday choice, as well as fir or pine. You can also grab some boxwood stems or eucalyptus branches for something a little bit different. Even a cotton stem, with its soft white flowers, will create an eye-catching and unique gift. 

If you want to get a bit fancier, think about cutting out some holiday shapes to add to your present toppers. Stars cut from burlap, brown kraft paper or cardboard can keep the natural tone but also provide that finishing touch. You can even coat them in glitter if you want to add some sparkle!

Matching gift tags can add to the beauty of your wrapped gifts without distracting from your natural accents. They also add to the anticipation, as everyone wants to take a peek at which one is for them!
